GasEnemy Model Guide
Each GasEnemy model ranks stations using a different strategy, but all aim at the same mission: find gas that is painfully expensive and inconveniently far away. Pick a model based on how much you want to favor price versus distance.
Choose a Model
| Model | Method | What It Does | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular | Price-gated then distance-first | Takes only the top slice of most expensive stations, then chooses the farthest among that expensive set. | Default everyday use when you want strong price pain and long distance without over-tuning. |
| Premium | Weighted blend (price-heavy) | Normalizes price and distance and combines them with a stronger price weight, so expensive stations dominate. | When maximizing pump pain matters more than travel distance. |
| Diesel | Weighted blend (distance-heavy) | Normalizes price and distance and combines them with a stronger distance weight, so far stations dominate. | When you want the longest detour while still considering expensive gas. |
| Octane Ultra | Multiplicative score | Scores each station as price times distance, rewarding stations that are both expensive and far at once. | When you want one aggressive combined objective with no manual thresholds. |
| Octane Nitro | High-price threshold then farthest | Keeps only a high-price tier and then returns the farthest options from that tier for fast ranking. | Quick, simple selection with less scoring overhead. |
| Unleaded Pro | Rank-combination strategy | Ranks stations by price and by distance separately, then combines those ranks to find balanced winners. | When you want nuanced tradeoffs rather than raw score magnitude. |
Practical Tips
- Use Regular first as a baseline, then switch to Premium or Diesel depending on your goal.
- Use Octane Ultra when you want one strong combined score for fast comparison.
- Use Unleaded Pro when two stations seem close and you want a tie-break style ranking.
